Welcome to my blog that will take you on a trip to my hometown. I will bring you to experience the beauty of Dabo Singkep which is rarely known by many people. Let's discover the beauty of tourist attractions, culinary and souvenirs on this beautiful island.

Dabo Singkep is one of the islands located on Singkep Island. Transportation to Dabo Singkep by air or by sea. You can use a ship that stops at Tanjung Pinang or a direct ship. To reach there takes quite a long time about 4 to 5 hours by boat. Dabo Singkep is famous for beach tourism. Many tourists come from various regions. 

Dabo Singkep is famous for its beautiful beaches and is close to people's homes. My house is close to the beach, I can enjoy the sunrise and sunset that go to the beach. For residents who live close to the beach, they don't need to visit a far beach, they can play on the beach behind their house. For tourists who come, they can visit several famous locations in Dabo Singkep.

One of the traditions that still exists is the 7 likur night which is carried out in the month of Ramadan. On this night many people go to see the gate parade that has been made during the month of Ramadan. The gate is made by representatives of each village who will later be announced as the winner. This parade uses cars that have been decorated by residents and bring drums to enliven the atmosphere of 7 Likur Night. On the night of 7 likur there are also food dishes such as lambuk porridge. 

The famous tourist attractions in Dabo singkep are Batu Berdaun Beach, Sergang Beach and Batu Ampar Waterfall.

1.   Batu Berdaun

This beach has a characteristic where there are piles of large stones and medium-sized trees grow, so the beach is called a beach with leaves. There is no entry fee when entering this beach. We only spend money to buy snacks sold there. We can go using private vehicles such as motorbikes or cars to get to this beach. We will pass by the beach all the way to the leafy rock beach. You can wear comfortable and appropriate clothes when you are on this beach.

2.   Sergang Beach

This beach is quite beautiful and comfortable. Around the beach we can see providers preparing rest areas. And even a lot of people selling on this beach. There are lots of drinks and food available on this beach. This beach is quite close from the town of Dabo Singkep. We can go using private vehicles such as motorbikes or cars to get to this beach. You can wear comfortable and appropriate clothes when you are on this beach.

3.     Batu Ampar Waterfall

 

Apart from having beautiful and beautiful beaches, Dabo Singkep has a waterfall. Batu Ampar Waterfall is only +/- 2m high and lots of fish live under the waterfall. In Batu Ampar, there is a swimming pool where the water from the swimming pool is sourced from the Batu Ampar waterfall. There is a "floating tire" rental there for those of you who can't swim by paying a rental fee of 5 thousand rupiah once. To enter the Batu Ampar Waterfall tour, you only need to pay 10 to 15 thousand rupiah. Lots of people spend their holidays there during the holiday season like Sunday. We can go using private vehicles such as motorbikes or cars to get to this beach. You can wear comfortable and appropriate clothes when you are on this beach.

Besides being famous for its tourist attractions, Dabo Singkep is also famous for Dabo's special food.

1.     Lambok porridge

This food is made from sago and anchovies which are very popular among people in Lingga Regency. The main ingredients of lambok porridge are sago and anchovies which are added with rampai vegetables, small pepper, green bird's eye chilies, and a little peanut.

2.     Spicy sour curry

 

This curry is different from other curry. The delicious taste will make you addicted. The pleasure of Dabo Singkep's signature curry is from fresh sea fish.

3.     Prata Bread

Roti prata is a food that is suitable for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This food is usually served with curry or curry.

4.     Laksa

Dabo Singkep's special food is made from sago. Laksa has a light, savory, and delicious taste. The usual way of serving it is with sambal belacan or chili paste.

5.     Tamban Salai

This food is the hallmark of souvenirs from Dabo Singkep. Tamban salai fish is cooked by smoking it, not baking it. Smoked fish can last up to two days. Tamban salai fish is delicious to eat with sambal belacan or chili paste or cooked with spicy and sour sauce.

When we return from Dabo Singkep we must buy souvenirs typical of Dabo Singkep. I bought some souvenirs to share with my neighbors and closest friends.

    Kue Bangkit is a dry cake made from sago flour. The cake is one of the traditional Malay cakes.
